It is expressed by granulosa cells and granulosa cell and other sex cord stromal tumors, as well as adrenal cortical cells and tumors. It stains most adrenal tumors but no cases of renal cell carcinomas and is useful in differentiating between adrenocortical tumors and renal cell carcinoma.
